Documentary proposal

Senior Lounge

The audience for my documentary will be the senior class. They would want to watch my documentary in order to know the reason behind not allowing ’13 seniors to have a senior lounge. The subject of the documentary is the senior lounge. I will be talking about the reason behind seniors this year not having a senior lounge. The conflict of the story is finding the logical and comprehendible reason behind banning seniors this year from the senior lounge. I will be showing the idea behind not punishing people from somebody else’s mistakes because it is unfair to students and their integrity and it shows lack of respect towards seniors this year by perceiving them as incapable of handling themselves even though they will be going to college in four months maximum. ACS is built around respect, integrity, and intellectual growth, so shouldn’t everybody working or studying in this community abide by those pillars? My hook will be a recap of the past senior lounges found in school for at least the past five years with the words “Respect, Integrity, and Intellectual growth” appearing at the end.
The effects of the footage will keep the watcher hooked. The expositional information would be how the senior lounge has been a tradition in ACS for the past x amount of years and how it is bad to break a tradition with people who did no harm to it. The story will start out with talking about the history of the senior lounge and the reason behind taking it, and then the climax would be revolved around how people assume that seniors this year are incapable of keeping their senior lounge and Why do seniors this year have to be punished for somebody else’s consequences. In the end the seniors will know the main reason behind not having a senior lounge and have their screams be heard. The main reason behind not having the senior lounge even though we deserve one, also we will know whether Dr. Mancuso’s reason behind banning it is convincible. The beginning would be about 2 minutes, the middle will be around 5minutes and the end will be about 3minutes.
The locations where the filming will take place will be all the previous senior lounges, Dr. Mancuso’s office, and Hallways. At the previous senior lounges we will film the places where seniors had their lounges, later on in Dr. Mancuso’s office we will be filming him talking about the main reason behind the banning of the senior lounge for the class of 2013 and will that continue on in the future, and finally the hallways will be a place for interviewing the students about the senior lounge. The people that I will interview will be Dr. Mancuso and a group of seniors. The questions that would be asked in the interview would be: Isn’t it a tradition to have a senior lounge? What was the reason behind banning the senior lounge for this year, even though the people last year were the ones to ruin it for them? Why do seniors this year have to be punished for somebody else’s consequences? How do you assume that seniors this year are incapable of keeping their senior lounge? What was the main reason behind banning class of ’12 and ’13 of the senior lounge? Has been there warnings about the behavior of seniors last year before banning them from the senior lounge?

    Questions :)

    1. How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are? I would be 22 years old, because I can be really infantile, however, I can be really mature, it all depends on my mood.
    2. Which is worse, failing or never trying? Never trying, because then you wouldn't know what opportunity you missed out on.
    3. If life is so short, why do we do so many things we don’t like and like so many things we don’t do? Because we are forced to do most of the things in life and by being forced we start disliking them gradually. Therefore, that makes us want to try everything we don't have a chance to do, but if we were forced to do them then we would eventually get bored and start hating them.
    4. When it’s all said and done, will you have said more than you’ve done? I would have more done. I don't really talk about what I do, or what I accomplish because I keep everything inside, I don't like sharing my feelings with anyone.
    5. What is the one thing you’d most like to change about the world? The one thing I'd like to change about the world would be the amount of dishonest people in the world, because dishonesty can lead to anything. Dishonesty would make people cheat, steel, kill, etc. and lie about it which makes lying the worst crime ever.
    6. If happiness was the national currency, what kind of work would make you rich? Working in a bank, I just love it because I've had a fascination and a talent with numbers since I was about 6years old.
    7. Are you doing what you believe in, or are you settling for what you are doing? I am on the right direction of doing what i believe in, in order to reach to my goal, however along the way i am doing what i believe in with other things.
    8. If the average human life span was 40 years, how would you live your life differently? It would be differently because when I finish college and work till I'm thirty I would take the rest of the time to do what I want
    9. To what degree have you actually controlled the course your life has taken? I would say to about 80%, because i would like to have a little bit more control over some things that i am incapable of having control over them now.
    10. Are you more worried about doing things right, or doing the right things? I'm worried about doing things right. Since I was a young girl my father always wanted me to be "perfect", he didn't want me to try and fail (which is the wrong mentality), but he always wanted me to try and be perfect and that led me to trying every way possible in getting the final product even when the way of doing it is not the way assigned and even tough it isn't the right way.
    11. You’re having lunch with three people you respect and admire.  They all start criticizing a close friend of yours, not knowing she is your friend.  The criticism is distasteful and unjustified.  What do you do? I would be quiet because I wouldnt know how to react but I would disagree with them respectfully bY questioning them.
    12. Who is your favorite movie character? Jay from men in black.
    13. Would you break the law to save a loved one? Yes I would, but I would keep a low profile.
    14. Have you ever seen insanity where you later saw creativity? yes, Einstein.
    15. What’s something you know you do differently than most people? A lot of things, my way of thinking is different, therefore everything i do is different
    16. How come the things that make you happy don’t make everyone happy? Because each person has a different mindset and everybody has their own definition of "happy"
    17. What one thing have you not done that you really want to do?  Bungee jumping
    18. Are you holding onto something you need to let go of? yes...
    19. If you had to move to a state or country besides the one you currently live in, where would you move and why? I would move to Dubai because the weather is awesome and I love shopping there, and because it has a lot 0f banking offers and accounting work environments.
    20. Do you push the elevator button more than once?  Do you really believe it makes the elevator faster?  Sometimes i push it  more than once but i know that it won't make it faster, i just hope it does.
    21. Would you rather be a worried genius or a joyful simpleton? Joyful simpleton.
    22. What is your favorite movie? Mean girls.
    23. Have you been the kind of friend you want as a friend? yes, I always am.
    24. Which is worse, when a good friend moves away, or losing touch with a good friend who lives right near you? losing touch with a good friend who lives near me, because it would be hard to see them and not be able to do anything about it.
    25. What are you most grateful for? I'm grateful for having my mom be with me and helping with everything through out the toughest years of ny life.
    26. Would you rather lose all of your old memories, or never be able to make new ones? Lose all of my old memories because I can always enjoy the moment.
    27. Is is possible to know the truth without challenging it first? I don't think so, nobody is honest these days.
    28. Has your greatest fear ever come true? No, because i just get over bad things.
    29. Do you remember that time 5 years ago when you were extremely upset?  Does it really matter now? It really doesn't matter anymore because you just make new memories and forget about it.
    30. What is your happiest childhood memory?  What makes it so special? When I went on the "adventure" with my mom in cyprus, when we went through the path between the trees to finally reach the waterfall, I loved it because i had alone time with my mom and the weather was hot but it had no sun, it was amazing.
